The woman gives her a second chance at life.
Serenity, unlike other dogs, possesses a unique appearance, but her energy and liveliness emulate that of a playful puppy. Unconcerned with the opinions of the rest of the world, she is content and basks in the love she now receives.
Originally found wandering in San Antonio, Texas, this 4-year-old Siberian husky was denied the loving home she deserved due to a large tumor on her face. Dallas Dog Rescue Rehab Reform stepped in and relocated her to Dallas, Texas, granting her a second chance at life.
Introducing Serenity!
Patti Dawson, Serenity’s foster mother, immediately observed the puppy’s joyous demeanor. Serenity eagerly approached her, showering her with kisses and expecting affection in return. However, Dawson remains uncertain how much time Serenity has left in this world.
The veterinarian’s diagnosis confirmed the aggressive nature of the tumor that has invaded Serenity’s facial bones, infiltrating her nasal cavity and enveloping her eye sockets. Despite this, she can still breathe, see, and eat.
While some dog lovers express concern about Serenity’s potential agony, Dawson reassures that the puppy has yet to display any signs of discomfort. However, she acknowledges that circumstances could change in the future.
“Despite not receiving the news we desired, our love for her and our commitment to providing her the life she deserves will not waver,” Dawson stated.
Ms. Dawson’s decision ensures that Serenity’s remaining time is characterized by unique experiences. She spoils the puppy with delectable meals and abundant playtime. To attract donations for Serenity’s care, she even enlisted a photographer to capture stunning images of Serenity.

Embracing Life to the Fullest
Renowned animal photographer, Renee Dowhaniuk, captured the enchanting moments of Serenity. The puppy gained fame when the shelter shared her pictures online, captivating people’s interest and inspiring them to support Serenity.
“I believe in capturing an animal’s full potential rather than a sad picture. That nose was sniffing, and the tail was wagging as soon as we lifted her out of Patti’s vehicle,” expressed Dowhaniuk.

Donations poured in rapidly, with over 300 packages filled with gifts for Serenity arriving at the shelter. The puppy now eagerly awaits every delivery, reveling in a life of true luxury befitting her.
Dawson stated that when the time comes, and Serenity signals her departure, they will bid farewell. But for now, Serenity will continue to enjoy her best life in the warm embrace of her foster home.
