Vᴇᴛ ᴛᴇᴄʜ Rachel Barron noticed how sᴛʀᴇssᴇᴅ the puppy was. All Rachel wanted to do was put her at ease. Rachel went a bit further than that. By speaking to Layla in “baby-talk”, Layla flashed a smile that could melt even ᴛʜᴇ ʙʟᴀᴄᴋᴇsᴛ ʜᴇᴀʀᴛs. A video of an adorable dog smiling and wagging her tail after being sᴀᴠᴇᴅ from the streets went viral. The dog’s name is Layla and she was Rᴇsᴄᴜᴇᴅ by Beaumont Animal Care after she was seen wandering the streets alone for several days.
Rachel Barron, a person of the Animal Care’s staff, visited the dog in her kennel and started talking to her. When she talked in a baby-like voice, the dog was so amused she even smiled. It was probably the first time the little dog got some attention and care from a human. Layla was so amused by Barron’s way of talking that she giggled and wagged her tail happily. Layla grinned and wagged her pretty, little tail, in sign of appreciation of Rachel’s cute gestures. Thankfully, Rachel had her phone handy and recorded the entire encounter. Layla’s change in demeanor showed the world just how much it meant for a sᴄᴀʀᴇᴅ puppy like her to be treated kindly. Her tail wags and smile are epic!
Once Layla was old enough and in better health, she was ready to be adopted. Of course, since Layla’s video had been shared on social media, many applications for her poured in. Needless to say, after the video was posted they received a lot of adoption inquiries for Layla, and a local couple was chosen to be Layla’s new family, who already Rᴇsᴄᴜᴇᴅ several dogs and cats, were found to be the right fit. Once they brought her home, Layla quickly got used to her new home and immediately got along with the other dogs of her new family.
As the animal hospital sᴜsᴘᴇᴄᴛᴇᴅ, the Toney family and Layla clicked immediately. One of their ʀᴇsᴄᴜᴇ dogs, Lady, was especially drawn to Layla and the two became fast friends. The couple explained that Lady had ɢɪᴠᴇɴ ʙɪʀᴛʜ right before being Rᴇsᴄᴜᴇᴅ so they think Layla reminded Lady of her babies. Layla is just one of many shelter animals that desperately need homes. While she got her happily ever after, so many are still waiting for theirs.
