A mother dog, even without her hind legs, taught a valuable lesson that brought tears to her eyes.
This story titled “God’s Angel” is about Shi Bao, a small breed dog who shows that a mother’s love goes beyond life.
Shi survived after losing her hind legs in an accident and became a mother.
The poor dog was abandoned by her owner in Datong, China due to economic circumstances caused by the pandemic.
Fortunately, a group of activists rescued her and gave her a new lease on life.
When Shi was saved, her health was critical, and her hind legs were greatly affected. To save her life, amputation was necessary.
Unfortunately, Shi was hit by a careless driver. Rescuers found her unconscious with severely injured hind legs.
The heartless driver, unable to stop, left her with irreparable injuries.
She was rushed to the Meilian Zhonghe Veterinary Hospital, where she received necessary medical attention and underwent surgery to amputate her hind legs.
The doctors discovered that Shi was pregnant, but miraculously her pregnancy was not at risk.
This determined dog never gave up. After several weeks of care, Shi gave birth, but faced another challenging phase. Two out of four puppies died of distemper, and the third was born in serious condition.
The fourth puppy was the only one who was completely healthy and will be adopted by a family in Norway.
Dr. Xue, a veterinarian at Meilian Zhonghe Veterinary Hospital, expressed astonishment at the miraculous delivery of this dog taking care of her puppies.
“Despite all the difficulties, Shi is a great mom,” said Dr. Xue.
The rescuers posted on their Facebook account, asking the authorities to initiate an investigation to identify the dog’s former owner.
The third puppy will travel to Canada, where he will receive treatment and, once recovered, will find a new home through adoption.
The images of Shi with her babies were shared on social media, touching hundreds of users who expressed their admiration for this dog exemplifying the true meaning of love.
“How sad it is to see her condition, but her motherly love is admirable. I hope they can provide her with a prosthesis. God bless the dog and her puppies,” said a user.
“She sets an example for other mothers who harm or abandon their children,” another person commented.
What a difficult time this dog must have endured when she found herself on the street, alone, helpless, without food or water, abandoned with no way to find her way back home.
But amidst all the adversity, her puppies came first, and she never allowed herself to be defeated. What an incredible mother!
No one can deny that dogs are exceptional animals, united, affectionate, and protective. They are always willing to help others, especially their loved ones.
It’s unfortunate that behind these remarkable examples of devotion, dedication, and motherly love in dogs, there are still cruel individuals who abuse them, subjecting them to their mercy.
