Puppies Rescued from Freezing Cold Garbage Dump Receive ‘Royal Treatment’

Today, we received a heartbreaking phone call regarding puppies abandoned in a literal dump. This marked the beginning of a challenging rescue mission undertaken by Bright Eyes Dog Rescue volunteers in Saskatchewan, Canada.

An attentive Samaritan spotted the puppies during a visit to the dump and immediately contacted the animal rescue organization. Without hesitation, volunteers rushed to the location on December 17, 2021, to search for the pups.

In the freezing winter cold, rescuers braved the garbage-filled surroundings to find three puppies huddled together. Unfortunately, their mother was nowhere to be found, indicating that she was likely a stray dog who never returned to them.

Once the puppies were safely in the care of Bright Eyes Dog Rescue, they received a warm bath and nourishment. Much to their surprise, one of the puppies turned out to be white instead of grey.

“During their very first bath, we discovered that one puppy was actually white,” they wrote on Facebook.

Brave volunteers from Bright Eyes Dog Rescue returned in the following days to ensure no puppies were left behind and ended up rescuing four more. However, the process was far from easy.

While two puppies were found at one location and relatively easy to retrieve, the other two proved challenging to locate and rescue.
