Bali Paws’ rescue workers have saved numerous abused animals, and witnessing the adorable canines thrive in their new permanent homes brings immense satisfaction to their dedicated efforts!
On a fateful day, one of their team members stumbled upon a tiny hairless pup. This poor creature had been abandoned and sought refuge in a dog house on a property. Despite their expertise, the rescuers were taken aback by the pitiful state she was in.
The little one was suffering from a severe case of mange, rendering her completely bald and in agonizing pain. Furthermore, she had developed an infection in one of her eyes.
Desi, a dedicated rescue worker, disclosed that the pitiful girl had spent her entire life confined to a cage, being used for breeding purposes. Her captors disposed of her on the streets once she was no longer considered cute and healthy. Desi, on the other hand, managed to coax her out of hiding and instantly showered her with all the love and attention she craved.
“The moment I grabbed her, she became surprisingly calm,” Desi explained. “I believe she sensed my intentions, that I would never harm her.”
They affectionately named the dog Lucy Ray, and once her physical ailments were treated, her true personality blossomed! The rescuers described her as “extremely sweet” and “always craving cuddles.”
Over the course of the next seven weeks, Lucy Ray grew healthier, gained weight, and acclimated herself to the company of other dogs. She discovered the joy of walking on grass and experienced the warmth of a loving home for the first time.

All the preparations paid off, as Bali Paws swiftly found her a delightful forever home in Centreville, Virginia, despite the distance!
Upon seeing Lucy Ray’s images and learning of her story, Matt and Brianna knew that she was meant to be a part of their lives. They instantly fell head over heels in love with this small, enchanting dog!
“We both fell madly in love with her,” Brianna shared. “She was simply too adorable, and it felt like she instantly created a bond with our hearts.”
Lucy Ray now enjoys a life of lavishness and is undoubtedly among the most pampered dogs in the world! As her Instagram chronicles, she has transitioned from the streets of Bali to the comfort of silky sheets, and her happiness knows no bounds!
