The arrival of Mam Nata at IAPA on Christmas Eve 22 brought anticipation and joy. Being around 8 weeks pregnant, she was on the verge of giving birth.
When Instituto Amor em Patas (IAPA) discovered her, they found Mam Nata in a feeble state. She struggled to stand and was overwhelmed with fear. It took some time to calm her down and make her feel secure. Sadly, her owner abandoned her due to fear of the upcoming puppies.
Upon seeing the shelter volunteers, Mam Nata displayed extreme protectiveness towards her unborn puppies. She exerted all her energy to keep them away. However, as time passed, her guard gradually diminished, and she became more sociable.
One volunteer exclaimed, “Look at her belly – there might be 13 or 14 babies inside. We plan to schedule her ultrasound for tomorrow as she is quite weak.”
The long-awaited night arrived, bringing anticipation and nervousness. The volunteers prepared for an ultrasound to ensure everything was in order.
Returning to the shelter with the necessary assistance for the delivery, Natajuli successfully gave birth to the first baby – a bright, healthy boy.
“Can you count how many puppies there are? It’s 14 – Natajuli brought forth 14 adorable babies.”
Natajuli and her 14 puppies underwent a brief check-up, ultrasound, and blood tests at the vet. She was exhausted but determined. The puppies appeared plump and healthy, bringing relief to everyone.
“When I saw her smiling, I could feel tears welling up. Her babies are incredibly precious – I just want to shower them with kisses.”
“I almost forgot to name them – these 14 tiny wonders. Naming them will surely be a challenging task. If you have any suggestions or names you adore, please share them in the comments!”
