Discovery struck me in a cemetery, where I stumbled upon him – emaciated, exhausted, dehydrated, and barely breathing.
Mau, a young lad of barely two years, was fatefully unearthed amidst the graves by a compassionate soul. He languished, devoid of flesh, debilitated, parched, and his feeble breaths marked his existence on the roadside.
Many pedestrians crossed his path, yet no voice uttering concern lingered. Assuming his demise, they continued their silent walks. As for Mau, his pitiful fate overwhelmed one observer, tugging at their heartstrings and igniting a torrent of tears. Determined to rescue him, he hastened to remove Mau from that desolate environment. Sadly, all veterinary clinics remained closed in observance of a holiday, forcing him to shelter Mau in the warmth of his home.
Despite attempts to feed him, Mau adamantly refused sustenance, seating himself in a corner with a mournful expression. The following day at 8:00 am, he embarked on a journey to the Veterinary Hospital.

Due to suspected spinal complications, an MRI scan swiftly ensued for Mau. Astonishingly, the results unveiled lodged bullets – one nestled in his chest and the other nestled within the core of his spine.
These projectiles had long invaded Mau’s body, leaving their eradication arduous. His liver, kidneys, and digestive system suffered significantly, with alarming indexes of deterioration while infection ravaged his fragile frame. Adversity plagued those already struggling to secure their daily livelihoods.
Amidst the torment, a flicker of hope emerged as his gradual recovery took shape. However, the removal of the lodged bullet proved insurmountable, rendering him immobile. Heartbreaking as it may be, Mau’s survival remained paramount.
